Sorry for the humorous and confusing title. It really is not a joking matter. People are hoarding ammunition. This always happens when the ugly head of gun banners rises out of the muck.
This week I took my wife to the gun store to let her handle some candidates for concealed carry. The plan was for her to handle a Ruger LCR.
Her hand is small and it just didn't fit. The salesman handed her a Browning 1911-22. She squealed ooh it feels great. It is 85% the size of a standard 1911. I wanted her to have a heavier caliber but it fits.
One writer said, "the best concealed weapon is the one you will carry". I would add it is the one you will practice with. During our conversation she inquired about ammunition We were told they didn't have any. An inquiry about the next delivery was a shoulder shrug. The wife said well I might as well buy a toy if I can't buy ammunition I said well you could throw it at the bad guys.
I have heard that manufacturers generally setup their lines and run one type of ammunition until they have stockpiled a years supply. When there is a great run on supplies they are not able to respond quickly. When the suppliers catch up with demand and prices recede I will stockpile so that I don't get caught short again.
If you can find it buy it.
Keep your powder dry.
